Dr Steven Adlard
MBBS (Hons)  FRANZCP

Dr Steven Adlard achieved his medical degree (MBBS) with Honours from Monash University in 1989, and then worked at Box Hill Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital prior to undertaking Psychiatry training. He gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 1998 and has worked both in the public and private sectors.

His clinical work is in general adult Psychiatry, with a focus on Mood Disorders (such as Major Depression and Bipolar Disorder) and Anxiety Disorders (such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Social Anxiety). His ‘model’ for psychiatric conditions is that the development of illness has biological, social, psychological and general health factors all contributing and as such treatment must involve all of these.

Dr Adlard performs Medicolegal assessments (WorkCover IMEs and Impairment Assessments, Wrongs Act, other civil litigation and fitness to work) and is a member of the Medical Panels of Victoria (since 2005). Dr Adlard has completed training in the use of American Medical Association Guides to assessment of Impairment, 4th Edition and has completed training in the use of the GEPIC. He is an accepted Section 112 examiner for the Victorian Workcover Authority and Transport Accident Commission.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family and friends and is a keen cyclist.
